Located at 271 Ninth Street in Park Slope, Brooklyn, the William B. Cronyn House is a three-story Second Empire dwelling erected in 1856, distinguished by its slate-covered mansard roof adorned with ornamental iron cresting and a central half-story cupola featuring clerestory windows. In 1898, industrialist Charles M. Higgins converted the residence into the headquarters for his ink company; a five-story factory was subsequently constructed behind the property in 1899 to produce Higgins Ink. Today restored to residential use, the house remains a designated New York City Landmark and was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1982.
