Built in 1876 in Sheboygan, Wisconsin, the Third Ward School is a brick structure displaying Italianate architectural style. Originally serving as a two-room primary and intermediate grade school, the building now operates as Heritage School and functions as an educational museum. Visitors can explore exhibits, artifacts, and school memorabilia that document the rules and curriculum of the nineteenth and early twentieth centuries. Its proximity to the adjacent Longfellow Elementary School, constructed in 1994, provides a tangible contrast illustrating the evolution of educational spaces and practices over more than a century. The building is listed in both the Wisconsin State Register of Historic Places and the National Register of Historic Places.
