The Rahim Khan Mosque in Esfahan, Isfahan Province, is a Shi'ite mosque completed between 1873 and 1887, with later additions in 1959, exemplifying Qajar architectural style. Constructed in brick and tile with mortar, the mosque is distinguished by an unusual combination of decorative styles and houses one of Isfahan's largest shabestans—the prayer hall beneath ground level. The shabestan, portal, iwan, and outer dome surface have undergone reconstruction. Designated as an Iranian National Heritage property in 1998, the mosque represents a significant example of nineteenth-century religious architecture in Isfahan.
