Rainbow Falls State Park is a 129-acre recreation area in Lewis County, Washington, situated on the Chehalis River near Dryad off State Route 6. Built by the Civilian Conservation Corps and completed in 1935, the park exemplifies National Park Service rustic architecture and design principles. The landscape encompasses 3,900 feet of basalt shoreline formed seventeen million years ago, along with the namesake waterfall and some of the last surviving old-growth trees in the Chehalis Valley. The park provides campgrounds and miles of trails, accessible via a spur of the Willapa Hills Trail, and serves as the endpoint of the annual Pe Ell River Run. The site has experienced damage from Chehalis River flooding, including the loss of waterfall features and a footbridge after the 2007 Great Coastal Gale.
