Located at the southwest corner of Broadway and North Marr Street in downtown Pocahontas, the Randolph County Courthouse is a two-story Art Deco structure designed by architect Eugene John Stern and completed in 1940 with Works Progress Administration funding. The building's primary material is buff-colored brick, with a raised central section faced in gray concrete and accented by gray concrete banding along the sides. Four tall fluted square pillars with Corinthian-inspired capitals create an arcade within the central section, establishing a distinctive vertical emphasis. The courthouse replaced an earlier 1870s Italianate building, which now serves other civic functions. The structure was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1996.
