RBC Centre, completed in 2009 in Toronto, Ontario, is a 208-meter postmodern office tower designed by Kohn Pedersen Fox. Located outside the city's Financial District, the building serves as the anchor headquarters for the Royal Bank of Canada and is connected to the PATH network. Since 2012, it has been jointly owned and managed by Cadillac Fairview Corporation and the Ontario Pension Board. The tower achieved LEED Gold certification for environmental sustainability, incorporating design and operational practices expected to produce approximately 50 percent energy savings relative to buildings meeting the Canadian National Energy Code. In 2011, architecture critic Christopher Hume of the Toronto Star identified RBC Centre as one of the two most beautiful buildings completed in the twenty-first century in Toronto, praising its community integration and its role in revitalizing Wellington Street.
