Located on High Street in Uxbridge, the Regal Cinema stands as a striking example of Egyptian Revival architecture built in 1930–31 for cinema speculator A. E. Abrahams. Designed by architect E. Norman Bailey, the Grade II* listed building is celebrated as one of the most ambitious Art Deco cinema designs of its era—Historic England recognizes it as Bailey's finest surviving work. Originally a cinema, it later operated as the ABC Regal before transforming into the nightclub Discothèque Royale and subsequently a branch of the Liquid nightclub chain. The building was formally listed in 1977 following a local campaign by environmentalists who successfully resisted Hillingdon Council's proposals to demolish it for office, residential, and industrial development.
