Risbaf was a textile spinning factory established in 1932 in Isfahan, designed by German architect Max Otto Schünemann and constructed by Iranian master builders known as Ostadmemars. The building exemplifies a blend of Pahlavi and Art Deco architectural styles, employing brick, cement, mortar, and metal as primary materials. Set on a seven-hectare parcel, the factory became a site of labor unrest in 1959, when worker strikes erupted amid economic hardship stemming from the aftermath of World War II. Now designated as part of Iran's national heritage, the facility is slated for future repurposing as a museum through the Iranian Cities Urban Renewal Company.
