Located on Mashhq Square in western Tehran, the Museum of Ancient Iran stands as a landmark example of Pahlavi-era architecture, designed by French architect André Godard and constructed between 1934 and 1937 by master builders Ostad Morad Tabrizi and Abbas Ali Memar. Commissioned by Ali-Asghar Hekmat, the Minister of Education, the brick structure occupies a 5,500-square-meter site, with the building itself covering 2,744 square meters. Since its opening, it has formed one half of the National Museum of Iran, standing adjacent to the Museum of the Islamic Era.
