The Roman Baths in Potsdam's Sanssouci Park, situated northeast of Charlottenhof Palace, represent an architectural ensemble blending classical Roman and antique Italian styles. Designed by Friedrich Ludwig Persius and Karl Friedrich Schinkel and built between 1829 and 1840, the complex embodies Frederick William IV of Prussia's romantic longing for Italy. Constructed of brick and plaster, the Roman Baths reflect the Prussian king's Italianate aesthetic ideals and now stand as an architectural heritage monument in Brandenburg.
