Roman temple 2 at insula XII, St Albans
St Albans, United Kingdom

Demolished or destroyed.
Among the archaeological remains of Verulamium, the Roman city beneath modern St Albans, stands the fragmentary evidence of a classical Roman temple that once occupied the south-east corner of the forum in insula XII. Built of stone in the typical Roman architectural manner, this temple has long since been demolished, though its footprint and material traces survive to inform our understanding of the city's religious and civic life during the Roman occupation of Britain.
