Unveiled in 1921 at Brock Barracks in Reading, the Royal Berkshire Regiment War Memorial is a First World War cenotaph designed by Sir Edwin Lutyens, the era's preeminent memorial architect. Based on his celebrated design for the Cenotaph on Whitehall in London, the monument honors members of the Royal Berkshire Regiment. Now Grade II* listed, it stands as a significant example of Lutyens's restrained and dignified approach to commemorative architecture.
