The Royal Monastery of St. Thomas is a Gothic monastery founded in 1482 in Ávila, Spain, by the Catholic Monarchs as a Dominican convent dedicated to Saint Thomas Aquinas. Built in the Isabelline style, the complex served as the burial place of John, Prince of Asturias, and remains a UNESCO World Heritage Site component. Since the 1970s, the monastic church has functioned as a parish church, while the grounds now house a museum of natural sciences and a museum of oriental art.
