The Blue Mosque, also known as the Sakhi Shah-e Mardan Shrine or Ziyarat-e Sakhi, is a mosque and shrine complex in the Karte Sakhi area of Kabul, Afghanistan, situated at the foot of Asamayi Hill (known as Television Hill). The shrine is venerated as the site where the cloak of the Prophet Muhammad was brought, and is associated with a visit from Ali, the Prophet's son-in-law and cousin, who would later serve as Caliph. The complex stands north and west of the Sakhi Cemetery, and exemplifies Islamic architectural traditions through its religious function as both an active mosque and pilgrimage destination.
