Saki Takatsuka Kofun is a zenpō-kōen-fun (keyhole-shaped burial mound) located in Misasagi-chō, Nara Prefecture, Japan, and dates to around 400 CE. As an imperial mausoleum, it exemplifies the monumental funerary architecture of the Kofun period, characterized by the distinctive keyhole configuration comprising a circular mound joined to a rectangular platform. This architectural form was reserved for the highest-ranking members of society and represents a significant development in Japanese burial practice during the early fifth century.
