The Théâtre du Palais-Royal, located on the rue Saint-Honoré in Paris, was a baroque theatre designed by Jacques Lemercier in the east wing of the Palais-Royal. It opened on 14 January 1641 with a performance of Jean Desmarets' tragicomedy *Mirame*. The theatre gained prominence as home to Molière's troupe from 1660 to 1673, and subsequently served as an opera house for the Académie Royale de Musique from 1673 to 1763, when it was destroyed by fire. After being rebuilt and reopening in 1770, it was destroyed once more by fire in 1781 and never reconstructed.
