The Sam and Shirley Strauss House, a single-story mid-century modern residence at 4 Sunset Drive in Cammack Village, Arkansas, exemplifies the regional interpretation of that era's design principles. Built in 1963–64 by Little Rock architect Noland Blass Jr., the house combines brick and wood with a distinctive broad shallow-pitch roof clad in vertical redwood siding. The roof extends eastward to shelter an open carport and features a characteristic gap—originally left to accommodate a tree on the property during construction. Its varied window configurations and integration with the landscape demonstrate the thoughtful residential modernism of early 1960s Arkansas. The house was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2015.
