The Sheesh Mahal, or "Palace of Mirrors," is an ornate white marble pavilion within Lahore Fort's Shah Burj block, constructed between 1631 and 1632 under Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan, with later enhancements made during the reign of Sikh Maharaja Ranjit Singh. Executed in refined Mughal architectural style, the pavilion is distinguished by intricate inlaid pietra dura work and mirror embellishment of exceptional craftsmanship. Originally reserved as a private chamber for the imperial family and their immediate circle, it stands among twenty-one Mughal monuments within the fort and is regarded as the "jewel in the Fort's crown." The structure was designated as part of the UNESCO World Heritage–inscribed Lahore Fort Complex in 1981.
