Hiran Minar, a Mughal-era complex built in 1606 at Sheikhupura in Punjab, Pakistan, stands as a memorial to Emperor Jahangir's beloved pet antelope, Mansraj. Constructed within a former imperial game reserve, this early 17th-century monument exemplifies Mughal architecture and reflects the dynasty's philosophical engagement with nature, animals, and hunting. The tower—its name meaning "The Deer Tower"—embodies the emperor's celebrated fondness for the natural world. Protected since 1916 under the Ancient Monuments Reservation Act, the site, along with its associated tank, is listed on UNESCO's Provisional World Heritage list.
