The Rinku Gate Tower Building is a 256-metre, 56-storey skyscraper completed in August 1996 in Rinku Town, Izumisano, Osaka, designed by Nikken Sekkei and Yasui Architects & Engineers. The tower's tripartite structure contains an international conference hall at its base, business offices in the middle section, and the Gate Tower Hotel in its tapered upper reaches. Located adjacent to the Sky Gate Bridge connecting to Kansai International Airport and served by both the JR Hanwa Line and Nankai Main Line, the building functions as a major transportation hub. Its interior includes shopping, retail, a department store, and the Star Gate Hotel Kansai Airport occupying levels 29–54, with a 54th-floor observation deck providing 360-degree views of the airport, Kansai Kokusai bridge, and Rinku Carnival. A public observation level on the 26th floor overlooks the ocean and bridge. Two basement levels provide 365 parking spaces. Currently Japan's fourth-tallest building, the Rinku Gate Tower exemplifies late twentieth-century mixed-use development architecture.
