Tokyo Opera City Tower is a 54-story skyscraper completed in 1996 in Shinjuku's Nishi-Shinjuku district, rising 234 metres to become the third-tallest building in Shinjuku and seventh in Tokyo. Designed by the Urban Planning and Design Institute, Takahiko Yanagisawa, and NTT Facilities, the tower integrates cultural and commercial functions: its lower floors house the Tokyo Opera City Concert Hall, an art gallery, the NTT InterCommunication Center media-art museum, restaurants, and shops, while the fifth through fifty-second floors provide office space. Adjacent to the New National Theater in neighbouring Shibuya, the two structures form the broader Tokyo Opera City complex.
