South Norwood Library is a purpose-built public library in South London, located in the London Borough of Croydon at the corner of Selhurst Road and Lawrence Road. Completed in 1966, the building exemplifies brutalist architecture and replaced an earlier library that had occupied the site since 1897. The structure gained local prominence as the "Brutalist Library" and faced potential demolition in 2019, but was retained by Croydon Libraries, though with reduced opening hours pending renovation. The building has been championed by preservation campaigns, including the Brutalist Library Campaign, which valued it for its architectural, historical, and social significance.
