Built in Hudson, Wisconsin in 1900, the St. Croix County Courthouse is a brick structure rendered in the Richardsonian Romanesque style. Deemed "one of the finest of the state's courthouses designed in the Richardsonian manner," the building presents a symmetrical assemblage of Romanesque elements. It served as the seat of St. Croix County's circuit court until 1966, then functioned as a county office building through 1993, when a new courthouse and government center were completed. The former courthouse was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1982 and is now a private residence.
