St Martin's Church in Split, Croatia, is a Roman Catholic church ingeniously built into a small early guardhouse within the ancient Golden Gate of Diocletian's palace wall. Constructed in the Romanesque period, the church is distinguished by its fine 11th-century chancel screen and ranks among the oldest churches in the city. Built from stone and preserving elements of Roman architecture, the building is now cared for by Dominican sisters who maintain an adjacent monastery. Registered as a cultural property of Croatia, St Martin's Church remains open to public visits and is counted among Split's notable tourist attractions.
