State Farm Stadium is a multi-purpose retractable roof stadium in Glendale, Arizona, designed by architect Peter Eisenman and opened in 2006. Home to the Arizona Cardinals of the NFL, it replaced Sun Devil Stadium in Tempe and sits adjacent to Desert Diamond Arena. Since its opening, the venue has hosted major sporting events including three Super Bowls (2008, 2015, and 2023), two BCS National Championship games (2007 and 2011), the College Football Playoff National Championship (2016), the NCAA Men's Final Four (2017 and 2024), and the Pro Bowl (2015). It has been the host of the annual Fiesta Bowl since January 2007 and has also served as a venue for international soccer competitions including the Copa América Centenario (2016), the 2015 and 2019 CONCACAF Gold Cups, and the 2024 Copa América. Originally named Cardinals Stadium, it was renamed University of Phoenix Stadium in 2006 before becoming State Farm Stadium in September 2018 under an eighteen-year naming rights agreement.
