This socialist realist monument in Kremenchuk, Ukraine, was created by sculptor Anatoly Ignashchenko and erected in 1971. Cast in bronze and iron with a concrete base, the statue exemplified the monumental style favored in Soviet public spaces. The work remained in place for over four decades until its demolition in 2014.
