Svartsjö Palace, a Rococo château on the island of Färingsö in Lake Mälaren near Stockholm, was built in 1739 by architects Carl Hårleman and Carl Fredrik Adelcrantz. The palace and its associated architectural ensemble exemplify the ornamental elegance characteristic of eighteenth-century Swedish Rococo design. Today the complex is designated as a governmental listed building, preserving its historical significance as an important example of the period's aristocratic architecture.
