Drottningholm Palace Theatre, built in 1766 on the island of Ekerö in Sweden, is a Baroque opera house designed by architect Carl Fredrik Adelcrantz. Remarkably preserved, it remains one of the few eighteenth-century theatres in Europe still in active use with its original stage machinery intact. A UNESCO World Heritage Site, the theatre stands as an exceptional example of its era's theatrical architecture and engineering.
