Located in Toledo's historic Jewish quarter, the Synagogue of Santa María la Blanca (also called the Ibn Shoshan Synagogue) dates to 1180 and stands as one of three preserved synagogues built by Jews in Mudéjar or Moorish style under Christian Castilian rule. Originally a Jewish congregation space, the building later became a church before its secularization. Today it functions as a museum. Situated on Calle Reyes Católicos between the Monastery of San Juan de los Reyes and the Synagogue of El Tránsito, it was designated a bien de interés cultural (monument of Spanish Cultural Heritage) in 1930.
