Syracuse City Hall, completed in 1893 in Syracuse, New York, is an unusual example of American civic architecture for its adoption of the Romanesque Revival style. Built between 1889 and 1893 by Hughes Brothers of Syracuse, the construction came in at the bid price of $238,750. Now listed on the National Register of Historic Places, the building's distinctive Romanesque design sets it apart from the neoclassical and Beaux-Arts modes that typically dominated American city halls of the era.
