The Teatro Capitólio, officially known as Cineteatro Capitólio - Teatro Raul Solnado, stands in Parque Mayer in Lisbon. Opened in 1931 with an early modernist design by architect Luís Cristino da Silva, it is recognized as the first building of the Modern movement in Portugal. After suffering water damage and closure in the 1980s, the theatre underwent extensive restoration and reopened in November 2016. Its architectural significance earned it designation as a Building of Public Interest in 1983, and it remains an Immovable Cultural Heritage of Public Interest.
