Built in Florence, Italy, the Teatro del Maggio Musicale Fiorentino serves as the primary venue for the Maggio Musicale Fiorentino festival and home to the Orchestra del Maggio Musicale Fiorentino. Designed by Paolo Desideri and replacing the earlier Teatro Comunale, the complex features the Sala Grande, an opera theatre seating 1,800; the Sala Zubin Mehta, a symphony concert hall with adjustable capacity from 500 to 1,100 seats; and an open-air performance space on the roof accommodating up to 2,000 spectators.
