Tegher Monastery is an early 13th-century Armenian monastery and church situated on the southeastern slopes of Mount Aragats in the Aragatsotn Province of Armenia, near the modern village of Tegher and across from Byurakan. Built in 1201 for Princess Khatun, wife of Prince Vache I Vachutian, the monastery was designed by the architect Vardapet Aghbayrik, who also designed the contemporary monasteries of Saghmosavank and Hovhannavank. Constructed in the Armenian architectural tradition, Tegher survived intact through the Mongol invasions that devastated the region. Nearby archaeological remains include foundations from the 9th-century village of Old Tegher and a 5th-century funerary chapel known as Tukh Manuk, alongside a medieval to 19th-century cemetery featuring mausoleums and khachkars.
