The Church of Saint Sarkis in Tekor, a late 5th-century Armenian basilica in Kars Province, Turkey, once stood as a three-aisled structure crowned with a dome, exemplifying early Armenian ecclesiastical architecture. Located approximately 16 kilometers west of the Armenian border and facing the town of Digor, the church housed an inscription dating to the 480s—the oldest known writing in the Armenian language. Successive earthquakes in 1912 and 1936, followed by vandalism and deliberate dismantling in the 1960s, reduced the basilica to fragmentary rubble and concrete cores; its facing stones were repurposed to construct a town hall, now itself demolished.
