Saint Sarkis Church of Tsovinar, located in the foothills south of Lake Sevan in Armenia's Gegharkunik Province, is a modest Armenian structure built between the 12th and 13th centuries. Situated on a promontory south of the village of Tsovinar, it overlooks a small gorge and exemplifies the restrained character of medieval Armenian ecclesiastical architecture. The church lacks a dome and features a nearly flat roof covered in living grass. A small cemetery of medieval graves surrounds the structure, while a spring and cave occupy the ravine below. Twentieth-century interventions, likely repairs to the roof and stonework rather than full reconstruction, have preserved the building to the present day.
