The Temple of Athena Alea at Tegea in ancient Greece was a sanctuary dedicated to Athena under the local epithet Athena Alea, a syncretization blending the Olympian goddess with the regional deity Alea. Constructed in marble, the temple served as a crucial identity marker for the Tegeans and functioned as the focal point of a significant sacred area from at least the tenth century BCE. Archaeological evidence from the site reveals contact with nearby regions including the Argolid and Laconia, underscoring Tegea's role in the broader networks of ancient Greek civilization. Today the ruins remain an important archaeological site in Tripoli Municipality, Greece.
