Temple Sinai, located at 2808 Summit Street in Oakland, California, is a Reform Jewish synagogue and the oldest Jewish congregation in the East San Francisco Bay region, founded in 1875. The current sanctuary, completed in 1914, is a Beaux-Arts structure designed by architect G. Albert Lansburgh and stands as Oakland's oldest synagogue building. The congregation transformed from traditional to Classical Reform practices under Rabbi Marcus Friedlander (1893–1915), and has weathered significant financial challenges throughout its history while maintaining a prominent role in the Bay Area Jewish community. Early members included noted figures such as Gertrude Stein and Judah Leon Magnes, and the congregation underwent a major expansion campaign beginning in 2006 to construct a new adjacent campus.
