The Egg is a performing arts venue in Albany, New York, named for its distinctive ovoid form. Designed by Harrison & Abramovitz and constructed between 1966 and 1978 as part of the Empire State Plaza development, this brutalist structure occupies the plaza's northeast corner. Its striking sculptural silhouette has made it an architectural landmark of New York's Capital District. The building is owned by the state of New York and managed by the Nelson A. Rockefeller Empire State Plaza Performing Arts Center Corporation, a nonprofit established in 1979 to oversee performing arts operations within the larger plaza complex.
