The Manor, a châteauesque mansion on Mapleton Drive in the Holmby Hills neighborhood of Los Angeles, was built by television producer Aaron Spelling as his private residence. Designed by architects James Langenheim & Associates and overseen during construction by Spelling's wife Candy, the property was completed in 1988 for $12 million. The second-largest house by official living space in the Los Angeles metropolitan area, it exceeds both the White House and the Taj Mahal in size. After Spelling's death, the mansion was purchased in 2011 by British heiress Petra Ecclestone for $85 million, then sold in 2019 for $119.7 million—a California real estate record at that time.
