Built in 1910, the Thomas Chivers House in Challis, Idaho, stands as the most elaborate and best-preserved two-story Queen Anne-style residence in the town. The frame structure, constructed of roughly finished lumber on a mortared rock foundation, represents a plain implementation of Queen Anne style tempered with Colonial Revival influences. Notable details include window head moldings, eave returns, enclosed eaves, and stained glass—the only known example of its kind in Challis. Listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1980, the house remains remarkably unaltered and relatively large for its modest community setting.
