Located at 52 North Market Street in downtown Asheville, North Carolina, the Thomas Wolfe House is a Queen Anne–style residence where the American author Thomas Wolfe spent his boyhood years. The home, now operated as a state historic site and museum, was designated a National Historic Landmark in 1971 in recognition of its association with Wolfe (1900–1938), whose literary career made it one of the most significant biographical properties in American letters. Situated within the Downtown Asheville Historic District, the house preserves the domestic environment that shaped one of the twentieth century's most celebrated writers.
