The Tioga Pass Entrance Station, located in Tuolumne County, serves as the primary eastern gateway to Yosemite National Park via the Tioga Pass Road. Built between 1931 and 1934 in the National Park Service rustic style, the complex comprises two stone structures: a ranger station and a comfort station, both featuring peeled log roof framing and heavy masonry construction with oversized timber elements. The ranger station, roughly 28 feet square and set into a hillside, contains a lobby with a substantial stone fireplace, living quarters, and a front porch with reverse-corbeled wall bases and simple gable roof. The smaller comfort station displays similarly robust stonework with battered walls and hipped gables. Civilian Conservation Corps workers assisted in their construction, and the site's extensive use of stone established a precedent for later high-country park buildings. Two log gate structures were rebuilt in 1999 alongside original stone piers. The entrance station was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1978 and operates seasonally.
