The Tipton County Courthouse, located in Tipton, Indiana, is the county's third courthouse and stands as a notable example of Romanesque Revival architecture completed in 1894. Designed by Adolf Scherrer—the architect who also oversaw completion of the Indiana State Capitol and designed the Tipton County Jail and Sheriff's Home—the courthouse is constructed of sandstone and features a distinctive clock tower rising 206 feet, topped by a flagstaff. Built by Pierce and Morgan of Indianapolis between 1893 and 1894 at a cost of $170,988, it remains one of several Romanesque courthouses from the 1890s still in active use. The building was added to the National Register of Historic Places on March 1, 1984.
