Located in Shenandoah County, Virginia, Toms Brook School is a two-story, T-shaped Colonial Revival building constructed in 1935–1936 as part of a county-wide educational modernization program. The red brick structure features a monumental portico with tall columns supporting a pediment, and its construction was funded by a $25,000 loan from the Virginia State Board of Education. Originally serving grades 1–12, the school housed all community students after 1959, when the county consolidated surrounding elementary schools into the building. A cafeteria addition was completed in 1952. The school closed in 1991 following the completion of new county elementary school additions, and it was subsequently converted into low-income housing. Toms Brook School earned listing on the National Register of Historic Places in 2011 and is designated as a Virginia Historic Landmark.
