The Treasury of National Jewels, located in District 12 of Iran, is a museum affiliated with the Central Bank of Iran that preserves and displays the Iranian National Jewels. Built in 1955 in the Pahlavi architectural style, the institution serves as the legal custodian of a collection that became so valuable by the 1930s that it was designated as a currency reserve for Iran. The museum reopened to the public in 1992 after an extended period of closure, and today houses one of the world's most celebrated assemblages of diamonds and precious jewels—a collection deemed too valuable to assess monetarily.
