Perched on the rocky Mount Zlatovrv eight kilometers north of Prilep in North Macedonia, the Monastery of Treskavec, also known as St. Bogorodica, is a 12th-century Byzantine structure built into a dramatic high-altitude setting. Founded in 1101, the monastery exemplifies Byzantine architectural traditions and has endured as a heritage site in North Macedonia, though it now sustains only a single resident monk. Its remote mountaintop location and longevity testify to centuries of Orthodox monastic life in the region.
