Listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1988 as part of a comprehensive evaluation of Williamson County's historical resources, the church exemplifies late-nineteenth-century Methodist architecture. The congregation disaffiliated from the United Methodist Church in 2022 to become an independent Methodist body.
