Completed in 1931, the United States Post Office and Courthouse–Prescott Main in Prescott, Arizona, exemplifies Beaux-Arts design under architect James A. Wetmore. The building's monumental entrance features steps constructed from porphyritic granite shipped from Minnesota, notable for its large orthoclase feldspar crystals, a deliberate choice that departed from original plans to use local Prescott Granodiorite. Inside, the lobby showcases fine-veined Indiana marble, while a northwest corner room displays distinctive wavy-textured marble cladding. Listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1985, the building is recognized primarily for its architectural distinction.
