The United States Post Office in Yonkers, New York, is a two-story stone building erected in the late 1920s and situated on Main Street opposite the city's train station. Designed by James A. Wetmore of the Treasury Department's Office of the Supervising Architect, it exemplifies Neoclassical architecture with hints of the emerging Art Deco style. The site was personally chosen by Secretary of the Treasury William Gibbs McAdoo. Built to serve a growing city, the structure is larger than most post offices of its era. Listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1989, it remains largely intact today.
