The US Post Office in Niagara Falls, built in 1906, exemplifies the Beaux-Arts grandeur that federal architecture brought to American cities in the early twentieth century. Designed by James Knox Taylor, the Supervising Architect of the Treasury Department, this two-story structure stands clad in white Vermont marble atop a granite base, presenting a French Neoclassical façade enriched with Beaux-Arts detailing. One of several post offices Taylor designed across New York State, the building earned recognition as a National Register of Historic Places listing in 1989, preserving its significance as a monument to the civic confidence of the Progressive Era.
